Brian Taylor was born June 3, 1960 to Jack and Barbara Taylor, the second of four children and was raised on Vance Road, less than one mile from Welcome Door Baptist Church. Brian and Lisa Taylor were married on October 3, 1981, they have 2 grown children and 2 grandsons.
At the age of 20 Brian accepted The Lord Jesus Christ as his Saviour, being led to that saving knowledge by his dad, using only John 10:10 -“For the thief cometh not , but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. ”
Brian answered God’s calling on his life to preach on May 3, 1993 at the altar of Open Door Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, N.C. at a Preachers fellowship meeting. The Lord began immediately opening doors to preach while a member of Baux Mountain Baptist Church under the ministry of Pastor Ernest Hutchings. In January 1998 accepted the call to Pastor New Birth Baptist Church in Walnut Cove and stayed there until the call to come to Welcome Door Baptist Church in November 2015.
Brian believes in the old time religion, sinners are saved by the Grace of God in totality, plus nothing and minus nothing and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin. Brian is firmly convicted that the King James Bible is the Inspired , Inerrant, Infallible, and Preserved Word of God and accepts none other. Brian believes following three simple practices will keep you in love with Jesus and will keep you fervent in spirit serving the Lord, “Stay in your Bible, stay on your knees, and stay on the pews.”
